01 · Overview

YatraFirst is a mobile bus booking app concept designed to make intercity travel in Nepal easier to plan. The application allows users to search for buses by selecting their departure location, destination, travel date, and number of passengers. It also provides quick access to upcoming trips and special travel offers, so the booking and trip-management experience lives in one place.

02 · Problem

Planning an intercity bus journey usually means searching routes, choosing a travel date, and keeping track of booked trips and offers — most of it done step by step, across multiple screens. The design challenge was to make route and date selection easy to understand, using clearly labeled fields and touch-friendly controls to help travelers plan a journey.

03 · Concept

The design follows a clean, modern, and minimal visual style with a bright lime-green accent color that creates a fresh and energetic travel identity. Rounded cards and input fields, clear typography, simple travel-related icons, and high-contrast call-to-action buttons keep the interface approachable. The main dashboard immediately focuses on the user's primary task: booking a trip. A friendly "Namaste, where are you headed?" greeting points users toward the booking form while keeping the experience warm.

04 · Design Process

The main UX goal was to reduce the number of steps required to search for a bus. Users enter their From, To, Travel Date, and Passengers from a single booking card and start their search with a prominent Search Buses button. Below the booking section, upcoming trips and available offers are reachable without navigating through multiple screens. The key challenge was presenting all the necessary travel information without making the home screen feel crowded. The interface was divided into clear sections:

2. Upcoming Trip
3. Special Offers

Clearly labeled fields, familiar icons, and large touch-friendly controls help users complete the booking process quickly, so the dashboard combines booking, trip management, and promotions in one place.

05 · Final Design

A mobile-first interface optimized for smartphone use, organized around a single booking card with route-based search (such as Kathmandu → Pokhara), upcoming trip details, and special offers. The design work focuses on:

• A mobile-first booking flow with route, date, and passenger selection

• A dedicated area for travel offers

06 · Outcome

YatraFirst provides a simple and modern solution for planning and booking bus journeys. The design brings bus search, upcoming trips, and offers together in one mobile experience.
